What Should I Expect During My First Visit?
Before your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a confidential health history and intake form online. This form helps your therapist develop an appropriate treatment plan that is specific to your needs. If you are unable to fill out the form online, please arrive at least 5-10 minutes prior to the appointment time.
Initial Massage Therapy Visit
The massage therapist will review your health history form beforehand. In conjunction with the information provided, a conversation and potentially a mobility test will take place to determine how to best utilize your time together. The client will proceed to disrobe to their comfort level in private, only in relation to the areas to be treated. The practitioner will re-enter the space and the massage will begin.
Throughout treatment, the practitioner will be checking in to determine your comfortable level regarding a number of aspects, including massage pressure. We encourage honesty, communication is always the best strategy to achieve a successful treatment overall.
On completion of your first session, the massage therapist may discuss a treatment plan for future visits, remedial exercises, and self-care practices. After your visit, the practitioner will document the treatment in detail, to record observable and measurable data to track your progress.
Initial Osteopathy Visit
The osteopath will review your health history form and make a thorough investigation into all concerns and goals for treatment. The orthopedic test may follow to determine any somatic dysfunction. Other osteopathic assessment techniques may be used to determine other somatic or visceral imbalances. Following the conclusion of the assessment, treatment options will be discussed.
It is important that as much information as possible be gathered to make proper treatment decisions. Before the conclusion of the session, your osteopath will discuss a treatment plan with you. Questions are welcomed and encouraged throughout the assessment and treatment process.
Extended Health Insurance & Direct Billing
During completion of your initial online intake form, a section will prompt you for insurance information for the purposes of direct billing. During your treatment, our administrative staff will attempt to bill your extended health care insurer directly to remove any need to do so on your own. Being said, it is important to check with your insurance company beforehand, for details regarding coverage amounts, restrictions, and referral requirements.
Cancellation Policy
A valid credit card is required for all bookings with us. The treatment and/or services you select are reserved especially for you. To respect both the therapist’s time and our other clients, we require 24-hour notice of appointment cancellation. This notice allows us sufficient time to schedule other appointments and for our therapists to make appropriate changes to their schedule.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24-hour notice may be charged a full fee. The only exceptions are extreme circumstances, which can be discussed with management.
Appointments that are cancelled without any notification, or by simply not showing up for your appointment, will result in a full fee being charged to your account.
Late arrivals will lose the time they have missed and your appointment will end as scheduled.
