What to Expect During Your First Visit

Before you even step into our clinic, we want to make sure we’re setting you up for success. You’ll be asked to complete a confidential health history and intake form online—this gives your therapist the inside scoop to tailor your treatment just for you. If online forms aren’t your thing, no worries! Just arrive 5–10 minutes early, and we’ll get you sorted.

Dress comfortably. Loose, comfortable clothing makes transitions easier, especially for sessions that may involve movement assessments.

Hydrate. Well-hydrated muscles and tissues respond better to treatment—so drink up!

Initial Massage Therapy Visit

Your massage therapist will review your health history ahead of time—think of it as their secret weapon to crafting a personalized experience. A quick chat and possibly a mobility test will follow to ensure we’re making the most of your time.

You’ll then be invited to disrobe to your comfort level in private—only the areas being treated will be uncovered. Once you’re ready, the therapist will return and begin the massage.

Throughout the session, your therapist will check in to ensure the pressure is just right, because comfort is key. Honest feedback is always welcome—it helps us give you the best possible experience!

At the end of your visit, your therapist will go over a personalized plan for future treatments, along with some handy self-care tips and remedial exercises. We’ll also keep detailed notes to track your progress over time—think of it as your wellness roadmap.

Initial Osteopathy Visit

Your osteopath will dive into your health history and listen carefully to your concerns and goals for treatment. They’ll conduct an orthopedic test and other osteopathic assessments to identify any somatic (muscular or skeletal) or visceral (organ-related) imbalances.

Once the assessment is complete, you’ll discuss treatment options. Here’s where the hands-on part begins: using gentle, targeted techniques, your osteopath will work with your body’s natural rhythms to release tension, restore balance, and improve mobility. Techniques may include soft tissue work, joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques, and visceral manipulation.

Throughout the session, your comfort and feedback are key. If anything feels too intense or if you have questions, just speak up—this is your time.

Before wrapping up, your osteopath will outline a personalized treatment plan for future visits and discuss self-care strategies to keep you feeling your best.

After Your Session

Drink plenty of water. Hydration helps flush out any toxins released during treatment and supports tissue recovery.

Listen to your body. You might feel extra relaxed, or notice mild soreness as your body adjusts—this is normal and should subside in a day or two.

Follow recommendations. Whether it’s stretches, exercises, or simple self-care tips, these suggestions are designed to enhance and prolong the benefits of your session.

Book your next session. Staying consistent with treatments—especially if part of a care plan—can help you reach your goals more effectively.

Plan your day. Ideally, avoid scheduling strenuous activities immediately after your appointment to give your body a chance to soak in the benefits.

Extended Health Insurance & Direct Billing

During your intake form completion, you’ll have the option to provide insurance information. Our administrative team will attempt direct billing to your extended health care insurer, saving you the extra step. However, we recommend checking with your provider ahead of time to understand coverage, limits, and any referral requirements—because no one likes surprises!

Cancellation Policy

Life happens, and we get it. A valid credit card is required to hold your appointment, but if you need to cancel, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. This helps us accommodate other clients and keeps our therapists’ schedules running smoothly.

For cancellations made with less than 24-hour notice, a full fee may apply. Extreme circumstances? Talk to us—we’re reasonable.

Missed appointments without any notice will be charged in full, and late arrivals will forfeit the missed time while the session still ends on schedule.
