Pre-natal massage can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle tension, reduce swelling and edema, joint discomfort, and improve labour outcomes and newborn health.
Post-partum massage is beneficial to help with the changes the occur after birth. Mother’s experience back pain associated with carrying and breast feeding their babies. It is also beneficial to help reduce stress from the reduced amount sleep due to the frequency of breastfeeding throughout the day and night. It give the mother some time to relax and practice self-care.
